Some More BUA's

Having done some trial BUA's a few years ago for my more European buildings, I finally got around to make some bases for the buildings in the run up and over the Xmas period. I've been meaning to do this for years, so it was rather nice to actually finish a few. There are some still to follow, but the recent freezing weather has meant I haven't been able to make any bases, nor prime them.

As before, the buildings are all from Leven Miniatures, with the walls from Commission Figurines and the flock various standard railway model materials.

A walled churchyard. The sort of BUA that seems to have been fought over a lot during the SYW. I may make headstones etc or even a seperate graveyard, something that apparently was more common in Europe.

A manor house.

An accompanying barn and stable for the manor house.

A stand alone barn.

I enjoyed making these as they are pretty easy to do and require little painting, which is nice when the muse is not upon one for that activity. They do take time, especially at this time of year, for the glue and lacquer to dry. In the Summer you could almost finish one in a day at a psuh. Personally I like to take my time to do the, trying to get a mix of practicality with a nice cohesive look with the rest of my terrain.

In Other News
I have been doing a fair bit of painting of late as I try to work my way through those projects that have sat partially started for far too long. But more on that in another post once the bases have been flocked, so hopefully in the next few days.

I also have a game set up to play in the next day or so, using a set of rules I've had for years but never actually used! Some of the set up can be seen in the background of the photos above. I'm trying to get a game in a week if I can, and these smaller actions which are planned, are easier to set up and run that most of the bigger games I play. But again more on that in due course.

Thanks for reading and as always, if you can, leave a comment as they are greatly appreciated!
